Alpine Race Service is founded on excellence in building race-winning vehicles and providing support to its customers in finding the right setups and power in their builds. We can also help handle the basics of your vehicle, including maintenance, parts installations, and engine builds.
We offer a variety of services with a specialty in BMW performance vehicles, specifically in E36 and E46 chassis.
Our expertise also ranges into other platforms, such as Miatas, Corvettes, and BRZs.

Located in Scotts Valley.
Scotts Valley is just 17 miles south on Highway 17 from Highway 85, close to Canepa. We are in a safe location, tucked away in the cozy and breezy Santa Cruz Mountains.

Regular maintenance services

Change oil at recommended service intervals for street driven vehicles, and more frequently for racing vehicles
Inspect VANOS and other components for any leaks, damage, or corrosion
Check spark plugs and ignition coils for wear and replace as needed
Address any engine warning lights and provide a diagnostic on the issues
Inspect power steering, brake, and coolant fluids and flush if necessary

Inspect shocks and struts for leaks or damage.
Inspect axles for any leaks or boot tears.
Align, set up, and install performance suspension components, including and not limited to coilovers, sway bars, control arms, etc.
Recommend suspension set ups for specific applications, whether it is street driving, canyon carving, or finding a second to save on your lap time.

Regularly inspect pads and rotors for wear
Replace pads and/or rotors when they are worn to minimum thickness
Check brake fluid levels and flush the system when the fluid is past its usefulness
Inspect brake lines and calipers for any leaks or damages
Pay attention to any unusual noises or vibrations when braking

VANOS is what makes BMWs have smooth power delivery, and in performance conditions with hard driving, the system eventually needs to be rebuilt with fresh components. We are proud to partner with Beisan Systems to provide the best in the business for you. Our service is a comprehensive VANOS unit rebuild:
Oil pump disk re-drilled with tighter tolerances
Gear bearings replaced and tolerance checked
Components get thoroughly washed
Teflon and rubber seals replaced
Refurbished solenoid pack
$1650 with core unit, $1350 with trade-in of core unit.

Everyone knows that the achilles heel of these legendary motors is the rod bearing material showing up as glitter in the oil. We offer rod bearing replacement in your motor, and additionally throttle actuator replacement in E9X M3s.
